Summers at Digby Nova Scotia

Digby was a place for the family to relax and where the Bishop could write. The camp they
stayed in was called "Tad's Fad" and was located on the lower shore road from Digby to Point Prim
Lighthouse. Their last summer their was in 1937.
George Cook II (10) and George Cook III (11) visited the camp in the 1970's and the house was
there. Since then, the new ferry terminal was located along this road and the camp no longer
exists.
Nova Scotia is a beautiful country with tides running 18 feet or more. To quote John, "the
water is too cold for anyone more than 10 years old to swim in."
Photo was taken in the woods behind the camp in Digby Nova Scotia, (1932-1933)
(Information about Summers in Digby was received from discussions with Adeline Strange(10),
Josephine Hadlock(10), Philip Cook Jr.(10) and John Cook(10) in the 1980's.)
