Notes: Susan Obituary: Susan (born in 1947, Switzerland) "Mummy", "Nana" passed away peacefully
in the arms of her daughter at daybreak on June 2, 2017. She was predeceased by her dear husband, Dr. Richard Pope, to whom
she had been married for over 36 years. Susan is survived and forever loved by her daughter Naomi (Gary) and grandson, Liam;
stepsons Kenyon, Andrew, Matthew (Sulin); her brother Greg (Rita); sister Cathy (Sam); nephews Skylar, Demian, Danny (Karen)
and niece Alana (Steven). Susan and her husband conducted anthropological fieldwork with the Kickapoo of Oklahoma, publishing
groundbreaking research with the Smithsonian Institution. A lifelong humanitarian, Susan was dedicated to advancing non-profit
agencies including the Canadian Red Cross and the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency. Gentle and compassionate, she had a special
connection to animals in her life, especially her dear Maggie. She loved music, the arts, literature, and good conversation with
friends and family. A lifelong non-smoker, Susan died of complications due to Lupus.
